About Us

Dr. Loretta Dodgen and Dr. Malinda Lowery founded Multiple Choice, Inc. in 1987. Since that time they have assisted hundreds of individuals and organizations with successful planning, skill development and implementation that maintains high productivity and high commitment from employees and customers. Both are experts in organizational development with focused study and research in the integration of acquisitions and mergers, change management, strategic planning, leadership and teamwork. Their extensive client base includes government agencies to small family owned businesses to large international organizations across the country.

 

Loretta P. Dodgen, Ed. D.

Dr. Loretta P. Dodgen, co-founder of Multiple Choice, Inc., has 25+ years experience in leadership development, strategic planning and change management. Clients include not-for-profits, government agencies, and small business to Fortune 500 corporations from coast to coast. In addition to organizational development, she serves as an executive coach for professional growth and executive leadership. Loretta completed her doctoral studies in business management studying organizational change through the integration of acquisitions and mergers.

Dr. Dodgen is an incorporator and director for First Gaston Bank where she currently serves as Chairman of the Board. She has been elected to United Community Bancorp, a holding company formed by the merger of equals between First Gaston Bank and Catawba Valley Bank of Hickory, North Carolina.

Loretta is active in the Greater Gaston Community. She was appointed to two terms on the North Carolina Small Business Council by Governor Jim Hunt and served as advisor to the Western Carolina University School of Business. Her community service includes serving as a trustee and board chairman of the Schiele Museum of Natural History and Planetarium for 2000-2001 and six years on the Gaston Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors including Chairman in 1994. Loretta was recognized for her professional accomplishments and community service as Gaston County Woman of the Year, Chamber Athena Award and Jaycees’ Distinguished Service Award winner, Chamber Small Business Woman of the Year, and Small Business Advocate of the Year. Senator David Hoyle nominated Loretta in 1998 for the North Carolina Distinguished Woman in Business award.

Malinda B. Lowery, Ed. D.

Dr. Malinda Lowery, co-founder of Multiple Choice, Inc., has over 24 years experience working with corporate clients across the United States. Her doctoral work was focused in the areas of Management and Leadership. Her dissertation research was conducted on the Integration of Leader Vision and Team Development. Malinda holds a Master’s Degree and Certificate of Advanced Study in Counseling and Supervision. She has worked with numerous corporations from small companies to international organizations in the areas of team development, managing change, communication, leadership, strategic planning, supervision, and customer service. Her clients include government agencies, non-profit organizations, and many Fortune 500 corporations.

Dr. Lowery is strong advocate for community service. She is Past-Chair of the Board of Directors for the United Way of Gaston County. She is a recipient of the Gaston Chamber Business Woman of the Year award and was nominated by State Senator David Hoyle in 1998 for the Distinguished Women of North Carolina Award in the Professions Category. She is past president of the Gaston County Women's Commission and chaired the Gaston Chamber Small Business Council and Business Expo. She currently chairs the United Way Community Planning Division and is the President-Elect of the Gastonia East Rotary Club.

Both Dr. Dodgen and Dr. Lowery also are partners in the Inn at Elk River, a successful country inn and restaurant in Banner Elk, North Carolina.
